My Story
Bumble was found wandering an urban area of Houston. He was pretty terrified being out there and dodging traffic and well meaning people trying to catch him. He sought shelter in open garage while someone was washing their car, so she thought quickly and just closed the door! He was so grateful to be rescued!!
He is a high energy, playful young dog. Knows commands, crate trained and potty trained - no accidents yet! He is very shy at first, but that could just be because what he has been through as he was being chased by a whole neighborhood! He takes several days to warm up, but then he is your best friend! See short video! He is super bouncy and smart - he would be great at agility games.
We had him shaved because he had some matting on his legs and the vet thought it would just be best to shave him completely so she could examine him fully and no one would have to struggle to brush him out, being that he was so scared, but it will grow back and he will be fluffy again! He will need to be groomed every 8 weeks at the vet clinic.
He is healthy, neutered, UTD on shots, Heartworm negative and on flea and heartworm prevention. He tolerates other friendly small/medium dogs his size. He prefers to play with females only. BUMBLE WEIGHS 24 lbs, he is NOT a small Poodle.
He is brand new into our program, so at this time, while he adjusts to his foster home. We do feel he would do best in a home without children. NO exception. Older children may be fine (14yrs +). Bumble needs some manners and he is mouthy- training is a must. He likes to play rough and uses his mouth a little too much right now - he is not aggressive, just doesn't have manners.
Poodles were used as hunting dogs originally and Bumble does display some prey drive - he tries to catch birds and squirrels. He is FAST, too.
Must have vet references. We do home checks. Once adopted, he MUST attend a manners and obedience class, at Peace, Love and Dogs - no exceptions.
