Here is an excerpt of a dog adoption meet and greet. Of course, there is much more that goes on behind the scenes to ensure that the owner is ready and has a safe environment for the pup.  It's all about education and making sure the pup doesn't end up lost or abandoned again.

Mark your calendars for Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows!  There will be several rescue and adoption orgs at the show, so you can adopt!  Yes, there are AKC rescue groups if you are looking for specific breeds to adopt.

Along with breed judging and obedience, you'll discover agility dogs racing over obstacle courses, flyball teams hurdling to beat the clock, and four-footed athletes catching Frisbees and dancing to music.
